What is the Stewardship Wheel?

It's a map of six ways people take care of what they share: their friends, their neighbors, their town, and the planet. Community care is climate care. What you already do for your community is what climate work needs too.

What does stewardship mean?

Taking care of something you share with others, so it's still there for the people who come next. It goes both ways: we care for the Earth, and the Earth cares for us.

Why six colors?

Every group, from a book club to a climate campaign, needs the same six things to work: grounding, vision, energy, support, language, and direction. Each color brings one of them.

What's in the middle?

The Earth. It's the circle of life, and it's why the wheel is round. The Earth teaches us, and it learns from what we do, for good or for bad.

What do the words around the edge mean?

Each color has three words for ways it helps. Tap a color on the wheel, and its card shows all three, with what each one means.

Can I have more than one color?

Yes. Most people bring more than one, and no color is better than another. The colors you don't bring, someone else does. That's how you find your friends in the climate movement.

Do I need to know a lot about climate change?

No. The skills you use to care for your community are the skills climate work needs. The only new part is learning about the climate itself, and you can pick that up as you go.
